Stick Figure Art - Animation - Picture

Kia Ora, Hello,Bonjour! How are you? Are you excited for next year (2022)?

This is another SLJ (Summer Learning Journey) activity. It is called Stick Figure Fun. I was scrolling though the SLJ activity site, then I saw this activity and it looked quite fun. First, we had to draw stick figures on a piece of paper doing different things then take a picture using a phone or on your webcam on the Chromebook. I took the picture on my Chromebook. I drew stick figures waving, jumping, Swimming, Baking/Cooking, Basketball and Drawing. If you look closely at what the stick figure is drawing, you can see that it is also drawing a stick figure. After we did that we had to make a slide show of your animation about your stick figures activities. I choose to use the waving one, basketball one, jumping and Baking/Cooking. I enjoyed making this lots because I like doing art (     I am not that good at it though :)    ).
Making the slide show animation was a bit tricky but it was still fun. You should try this out.

Hope you enjoyed :)

How to make a boat - Summer Learning Journey

This is a picture of the ship.

Hello, Bonjour, Kia Ora. How are you? Hope you are amazing!

This is another Summer Learning Journey activity. This is the second Nanogirl challenge. We had to try and make a ship/something that floats. I watched the other video that Nanogirl recommend us to watch as well and it helped a lot with the sail/flag. I did not know how to do it but now I know. You get a piece of paper and fold it but not press hard down on it and make a hole through each side with a pencil/pen or scissors (Have adult supervision). I enjoyed this activity a lot because I like to make different things in my spare time. This activity taught me a lot because it was a bit windy so the pencil and paper kept on not sticking but I managed to do it.

Hope you enjoyed :)

Summer Learning Journey - Day 1 activity - Ring Glider

This is the first video to watch.

This is the second video to watch.

Kia Ora, Bonjour Hello! How are you? Hope you are doing amazing.

This is the first Summer Learning Journey activity. This activity was actually for yesterday but I didn't finish it. I tried making a ring glider yesterday with goose paper (spare paper) so I can know how to do it without wasting expensive paper. The two colours I choose to do were yellow and orange because it reminded me of summer! I choose to do a ring glider because I have never made one before and it looked interesting to make. Today I decided to make a video, teaching other people how to make a ring glider. I found out that if you point the little ring first and the big ring behind then it goes faster than the other way. I enjoyed this activity a lot because I go to make something that can fly out of Paper and we also got to make a video teaching others. This was difficult because I was using Screencastify instead of We video. Screencastify had a limit of 5 minutes recording so that is why I have two videos.
I hope this video and blog post can teach you how to make something you didn't know existed. (I know I sure did!)

I hope you enjoyed :)

Rangoli Patterns

Kia Ora, Hello, Bonjour! How has your day been? Hope it has been good.
In class, we are going to be doing the Christmas concert/dance about Diwali (Said like Divali). Miss Farr (our teacher) decided that we could learn about Diwali. I have enjoyed this so far because I am learning lots and lots of stuff about Diwali. I have seen a rangoli on TV before but I never knew what it was called and the meaning of it. We had to draw and create a rangoli pattern in our maths books, then on google drawing after that, on a drawing site. I enjoyed making this because it was so much fun thinking of and drawing rangolis. The drawing site/game was probably the most fun because there is a drawing tool that can make it easy for it to be the same shape everywhere, it is called the mirror brush. This is was difficult because it was hard to get it symmetrical in my maths book but with the squares, it was a little bit easier.

Calendar Art

Kia Ora, Bonjour, Hello Everyone! How has your day been?
Every year we make a calendar art of a different kind of style. If you don't know what calendar art is, it is a piece of artwork that every class does if your school does it. Each class makes different kinds of art. This year Miss Farr (our teacher) has decided to take a picture of us pretending that we are thinking of something. Miss Farr said that we should draw a picture of our favourite place that is anywhere in the world. I choose to do Raglan. Raglan is a beach that is great for surfing. We didn't go surfing there, we did do boogie boarding. It was always so much fun. We had to put our name and 2022 because that is next year and these calendars are for next year. I am really proud of the bubble writing I did of the words. I enjoyed making this artwork because I think that it's so cool and I am proud of the whole thing. This was difficult because when we were planning on what our favourite place is, I could not remember what it was called. I asked my Mum and then she said Raglan.
I hope you enjoyed :)

Transformations

Kia Ora, Hello, Bonjour. How has your day been?
Miss Farr (our teacher) showed us this video and tasks to do bout this particular maths task. We are learning about transformations. A transformation is changing something into something else. The transformation part is rotation, reflection and translation. We had to make a slide for these three transformations. We had to find three logos of a company or something else that has a logo. We had to explain the logos about what they are and how it relates to rotation, reflection and translation. After we did that, we had to make a logo for ourselves and the class. I made it on this drawing app on my Chromebook then took a screenshot and now posting it on my blog. The logo that represents me is 5 unicorn horns. And the one that represents Whenua (our class) is a mountain and a river across it. I choose to do that because Whenua in Māori means land. The picture that represents me is rotation because they are all the same. The one that represents Whenua is a mirror image, the green part (mountain) is the same from top to bottom and the river is the same if you flip it so standing up. I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to make my own logos. This was difficult because it was hard to find logos that have either rotation, reflection and Translation.
Hope you enjoyed :)

Paralympics - Lesson 7

Kia Ora, Bonjour, Hello. How has/was your day been?
This is another Paralympics lesson, this is lesson 7. First, we had to read a piece of writing about Someity. Someity is the mascot of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. They show determination and try their hardest. After that, we had to watch a video about Someity. Then we had to write what colours and symbols we think represent New Zealand. Then we had to answer the questions about Someity. We then got to design a New Zealand mascot for 2020 Paralympics (it would not actually be the mascot). I made 3 drafts then I drew one that I liked. I named them based on what they looked like. My Dad thought of the name for Wheely William because I could not think of a name. My Dad said that he saw someone in a costume at his work that looked like Jessica (draft 2), with the cap and everything. I liked Wheely William the most because he represents the Paralympics most with his wheelchair. I coloured William in and wrote NZ Paralympics on him but you can't see it so I wrote next to the picture what it says (it does not say write on it, I just wanted to make sure that people know what was writen on it). I enjoyed this lesson because it was fun to draw the pictures. This was difficult because I was trying really hard to get a good mascot but it was still fun. I made all the mascots into kiwis.
Hope you enjoyed :)

Observational drawing

New Zealand is still in lockdown.

Kia Ora, Bonjour, Hello. How are you today? I hope you are amazing.
Miss Farr (our teacher) has sent us a google drawing that has things that we have to complete this week. If we finished the work for today then we can do the can-do`s. One of the can-do`s was observational drawing. Observational drawing is when you draw leaves of different types. I went outside in the backyard and front yard to look for leaves to draw. I found these 6 (the picture on top) leaves. I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to look at leaves because I usually don`t. This was difficult because I couldn`t really find that many leaves to draw because they all looked the same in my opinion. I think you should try this too.
I hope you enjoyed :)

SUPER EXCITED AND FUN ACTIVITY WITH CRAYONS - Colour Wheel Silhouette

Kia Ora! Hi! Bonjour! How are you? I hope you are all feeling AMAZING, TERRIFIC AND AWESOME!

At School, us year seven's and year eight's (I am a year seven this year) went to Tech at the High School. We learn and do different stuff there we usually don't do at Primary School (Such as Woodwork, Cooking and Technology). When we came back to Primary School our release teacher had a fun art activity for us that she started with the year six's. It was this art that we had to get a piece of clean paper then trace the silhouette on the paper when it is on the window. When we finished tracing the silhouette we got to colour. We had to choose colours that are the differences on sides with the colour wheel. I knew that I wanted to do pink for the background. The teacher said that we could draw clothes on the person as well because the paper that we traced off, you could not really see the clothes because the picture was black. I decided to do the clothes a blue gradient and the skin from red to orange then yellow. The silhouette was a boy at first but then I changed to look more like a girl because I am a girl. The picture is someone about to kick a ball in soccor (I play soccor, so that is why I choose that picture). I would definetely do this art again. I enjoyed it because it was just such a fun experience. This was diffciult because it took awhile to dod it but that is fine. When I thought I finished the art, I noticed that I didn't draw the outline on the hair so I changed it.

I hope you enjoyed! :)

Mascots Game - All-New Board Game - Anzac - First World War Mascots

Hello! Bonjour! Kia Ora! How are all of you doing, I hope you are having a beautiful day.
This is the LAST activity for this whole Anzac stuff. The book I read is called. First World War Mascots. I was feeling a bit like I wanted to make something. So I went down to the create subject. I looked to see what was there. I saw a board game one. It said to make an all-new board game so I made Mascots Games. I could not get any pictures so that is why there is none. I made all of the numbers first then but cardboard underneath. I made the how to play and how many people you need and that you need a dice. I was going to use a bag for the dice and counters but then I was like, no I will be a box. I write some information on the game that I learned from the book. I enjoyed this activity because I like to make things. This was difficult because I could not find a dice or any spare counters so I made them instead. I tested out the dice to see if it actually works, it does. My Dad and I played the board game after I finished it. Dad won, I asked if we can play again but he said he did not want to because he wanted to be the ultimate champion.

Hope you enjoyed :)

Emotions - First World War Mascots - Anzac

Hi everyone! Bonjour! Kia Ora! I hope you are all having a a wonderful day!
This is another activity for anzac. The book I am reading is First World War Mascots. It is a really good book, you should try reading it sometime. Here is the link. It is on my class site for my class and I. If you just scroll down a bit until you get to the anzac reading books. I went to the doc where all of the activitys are. I scearched and screached until I found one. I Choose the emotion one. If you have finished reading the book then you can do the 3 activities. This is my second activity, I have one more activty then I will be finished for this whole anzac stuff. This activity is when you have to make something to tell someone what emotions you had while reading the book. My book is about animals. I choose Happy and Sad. I think you were only meant to do one emotion but I could not decide between happy or sad so I choose both. If you go up a bit you will see why I felt these emotions. I enjoyed this activity because I like to make stuff with paper a lot. This was difficult because I tried happy but then I messed it up with the wrong colours so I did it again.
Hope you enjoyed :)

Bookmark - The Maori Pioneer Battalion - Anzac

Kia Ora! Hello! Bonjour!
How are you? I hope you are all having an amazing day today!
This is another activity for Anzac. This activity is when you make a book mark. I choose this because I wanted to make something to mark where I am up to on my book but still do an activity for anzac. At the start I thought that it would be hard to do this with the book I read because I am reading 28th maori Battalion. I could only find black and white pictures of people, but then I found a picture that said 28th maori Battalion. I enjoyed this activity because it was fun and easy. It did not take that long. This was difficult because I drew it in black were is says maori battalion because that is what it looked like, but you could not see the writing so I got a piece of paper the same size and just wrote it in black.
Hope you enjoyed :)

Torty the lucky Tortosie - Draw and Explain

Hello Everyone!
This is another activty for anzac. This book is called Torty the lucky Tortise. The activity I choose was to draw and explain an animal that is in the story. Torty is the whole point of the book so I thought it would be good. I drew a picture then I wrote down some facts. I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to draw. This was difficult because it was hard to write a lot of facts. It also took me a long time to do.
Hope you enjoyed :)

Podcast Map of Paroa School - Katelyn Podcast

Kia Ora Everyone!
This is another activity for energy. We had to make a model of our school. (Paroa School) I choose to do it in cardboard. I have labeled everything if you can not see it that well. I have also made a podcast explaining what facts are on this and where we could put solar panels. I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to make the model, researching and making a podcast. So I basically liked the whole process. It was difficult because I had to move all of the solar panels because I had the solar panels all over the school but then Miss Farr (our teacher) said that it would be best if all of the solar panels were in one place in the school. When I was taking it off, since I had tape over the paper then it kept on riping.
Hope you enjoyed :)

Energy Word Map - Negative Feedback Loops

Hello everyone!
In class, we have been learning about energy. I am in the Kiwi group and we are reading a book called feedback. Once we have read a bit of the story, Miss Farr (My Teacher) said that we had to make two other energy word maps. One about Negative Feedback loops and one about positive feedback loops. We got to do anyone first then the other one next. I choose to do the negative feedback loop first, I do not have a reason why. I found this activity difficult because I could not find any cold pictures that were available so I had to make it but that is fine. I enjoyed taking notes and reading the book because I like doing it.
Hope you enjoyed :)

Energy Word Map - Solar and Global Warming

 Kia ora everyone!

In class, we are learning about energy for this year. One of the tasks is an energy word map. Next to the goggle drawing, there is a word bank of different energy words. You can pick 1 - 3 words. I choose to do Solar and Global Warming. I enjoyed this because it was fun to make pictures and take notes from websites for information. It was difficult to find information because there was not a lot of information I could find.

Summer Learning Journy - Art Colouring Book

Kia ora Everyone!
I am doing the summer learning journey this year. The summer learning journey is a learning opportunity that you can do over the school holidays. This activity is when you go to this website, when you go on the website there will be lots of different pictures you can choose to colour. When you have selected one of the pictures, you can colour your own version of the picture. When you have finished the picture you have to post it on your blog explaining what different colours you used. I enjoyed this activity because I have never done this before, it was a new thing for me. It was difficult because I did not want the people in the picture but it had to be like that. I suggest that you should try this out because it is lots of fun.

We are storytellers - Make our own character

We are learning to create our own stories. I liked to draw the animal because it was challenging me to do something new with animals on my Chromebook. Next time I would put more colour into my work.

This is my Anzac wreath for Anzac day.

Today we made an Anzac wreath to celebrate Anzac day. This is how you make an Anzac wreath.

Step 1. Colour in the poppies and the leaves also the big poppy.

Step 2.  Glue the As to the other side of the paper. Make sure you can't see any As.

Step 3. Glue the B on the other side and make sure you can't see the B.

Step 4. Get the big poppy and find the C to glue the big poppy on the C so you don't see the C.

This is what the results should look like, but it might be different colours than mine.
