Summarising - The Force

WALT: summarise
My group and I had to read the story called The Force. Then after we read the story we had to summarise. Summarise means that when you read a story, you have to retell the story (in your own words) with the only important parts. What I think that was challenging was to learn how to summarise. For this activity, I liked to read the book because I like reading and because I am learning new things. (Like summarising.) I hope you like my blog post. By Katelyn.M

Film festival Refection

What is the film festival? The film festival is when you can make a film. Your film can then go into the draw to be shown at the regent theatre. You can see other peoples films too. It is lots of fun. Today we went to the regent theatre for the film festival. My favourite film was the one made by Manu at our school because they did the film on our school song.

This is my groups wevideo.

Adventure story (what it is)

Miss Farr put us in groups of three and we had to work together to explain what an adventure story is.
The thing I enjoyed about this activity was working together.
The thing what was challenging was to think what makes a good adventure story, why people like them, what adventure storeys I know and what might good writers do.

Ngaku whānau (My Family)

Today we had to write our own family tree in Maori. If you don't know what the words say you can click on the videos. I enjoyed making the videos to say what the Maori words are. What I found challenging was what the English words meant in Maori. I love my family so much. I really liked this activity.

Tumatauenga - god of man and war

We are learning about the Maori creation story.
Miss Farr gave us a god to take pictures of, Miss Farr gave me and my group Tumatauenga. Tumatauenga is the god of man and war.
What I found difficult: find pictures of Tumatauenga.
What I enjoyed: taking pictures of us.

Here is what to do.
You need to give your poem a title. Then you need to give a subject with 2 syllables. Then you need to describe with 4 syllables. After that, you need to put action with 6 syllables. Next, you have to put feeling into your poem with 8 syllables. And finally, put a conclusion using 2 syllables.

These are the rules.

1. only 5 lines of syllables
2. syllable pattern
3. Can rhyme but does not have to.

WALT ask what is this in Te Reo

Today we had to find Maori words for an object we chose and put it in a sentence. I enjoyed this activity because I helped people with this activity.
