Tree of Life - Pobble

 She held hope in her outstretched hands. Kneeling gently on the ground, she prepared herself for what she knew she must do. The cool water trickled through her muddy fingers, and the soft, black earth felt comfortingly warm on her palms.

Planting the tree of life would mean a new beginning. The opportunities were endless…

Feeling the excitement course through her quivering body, she lowered the tree of life into the small hole she had prepared. It was time...

It was time to plant the tree of life into a hole under the big ben in London. "Hi, my name is Sophie. I am going to tell you an amazing adventure about how Mason, Jules, Sapashine and I all saved the world. o really you shold be thanking us for being alive right now." Sophie said proudly. "It all started when Mason and I moved to London in a one story house in a god neiboughood. We got greated by one of our neighbours. A tall women with two children the same age as Mason and I. Mason and I quickly became friends wth our neighbours. We played all around the city of London. But one day we were playing hide and seek around a park that has a ginnormus tree. Then all of a sudden Jules shouted out. "OWW!" Mason, Sapashine and I all went over to help her her up. Jules said "I Tripped on a rock."Mason said " that is not a rock, that is the tree of life!" I have read many books about the tree of life. They say that if someone touchs it then aliens will be awoken, and hey will do what ever they can to get the tree of life." We all gasphed in shock. "How can we stop the aliens?" I said worridedly. " That is the problem, I don't know. The book does not say." said Mason. We sighed. "But!" Mason said excitedly. We all wanted to know why Mason said but. "There is a way to stop the aliens and save the day. There are secret clues and the first one is around this tree." I was really confused, because why has Mason never told me about this before.I asked him why. He said that there has never been any reason to. We started to look for the first clue. Afer two hours of searching for the clue, we finally foun it. It was writen on a leave in the tree. The clue said. "The next clue is somewhere that you can jump." We were all really confused. Then Sapashine had an idea, the trampoline park! YES, of course! Jules explained that it was now 6:00pm and that we need to go home for dinner now. We arranged that we should meet eachother at thhe trampoline park at 10:00am tomorrow. Mason and I tld our parents about what happened today. Mason, Sapashine Jules and I all asked our parents to drive us to the trampoline park tomorrow. They all said yes. We went sleep. I was so excited about tomorrow. It is now the next day. We meet up at the trampoline ark like we promised. We were looking and looking for a long time, we were starting to give up hope. Until a miracle happened! Jules found it in the girls toilet. Yes, the clue was on the toilet seat. It was very strange. The clue said. "Hope you got shovels because the last clue is under the big ben. The time was 1:00pm. We went to our parents who were in the cafe. We asked if we could get some shovels and go to the big ben. They said yes, but only barley We went to mitre ten to get four shovels. Next stop, the big ben. When we got there we saw he ground glowing so we started to dig there. But then aliens came and took Mason. We dug even faster because we knew that if we planted the tree of life then we can save him. The aliens ate Mason! After we planted the tree of life I went to go find the aliens. We found the aliens sleeping and Mason on the floor.i went to him and felt his heart not pumping I started to cry. Sapashine and Jules came and gave me and gave me confort. Then we heard a loud com oshine. The tree of life was growing. I had an idea. The tree is called the tree of life. Does that mean that it can save Mason? grapped a leave and put it on Mason. Nothing was happening. Then all of a sudden a beaming of liht came out of him. Mason started to go up there was light everywhere. Mason gently went back down. When all was quiet I said quietly"Mason." Then Maosn moved his cheast. He was breathing! I yelled out. "Mason!" He hugged me and I hugged him back. I was so happy. I looked at the tree of life and thanked. We told our parents about today. They were shocked that Mason was nearly gone forever. And that is the end of our adventure.

Miss Farr (Our teacher) said that we had to make a story out of a pobble. I have finally finished it. It took me a long time. I enjoyed making this story because I like making storys so this was really fun for me. This was difficlt because I was stressed because it took me a long time. By Katelyn.M Hope you enjoyed :)

Spring - Poem

 

Today we had to make a poem about a season. I choose to do Spring because it is my favourite season. Before we started to write our poem we had to plan. We had to make a brainstorm about when, verbs, what and how. I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to think of all the thins about Spring. It made me like Spring a lot more. This activity was difficult because it was hard to make sure that it rhymes. It did not have to rhyme but I wanted it to be it sounds better if it rhymes in my opinion. I think you should try this one day.

This is my dog - Poem

 

We have been learning about how to make poems. We had to pick a topic about something that we own. I choose to do my dog. At the start of every paragragh we have to say what we were writing about. Ex. This is my dog. I enjoyed this because it was fun to think about all the cool things about my dog. It was difficult to think of what I should put in the background. I choose to do hearts because I love Max. (my dog)

Akaroa holiday - WALT: use descripted launage

 The sun was beaming on this hot sunny day. Seagulls were chirping high up in the air. Engine boats make the water splash while the wind is blowing. Having yummy ice cream every night. It smells. like stinky fish and bait. Yucky fish and chips seeing the glowing water. With sticky Sunscreen on my face. Going on the boat with fishing rods on the lake. Seeing dolphins and catching sharks, also seaweed. Making new friends at top ten and hearing kids laugh on the playground. Having fluffy sand stuck in my toes and hands. Having dinner at the wharf and going to an extreme amount of gift shops. Seeing delicious ice cream drip on the concrete. 

I was devastated that we had to leave Akaroa because I had so much fun there. But I was excited to go home because then I get to see my adorable little dog. When we got back to miserable, rainy Greymouth. I had to unpack my bag. I think that is the worst part about going on a holiday. After I finished unpacking my suitcase. I played with my incredible, amazing, wonderful dog. His name is Max. Max is probably the best dog in the whole universe. When we going to Akaroa, we stopped at Christchurch. I got a pink bunny handbag for 12 dollars with my own money at this shop in a mall. 

WALT: use described language

Miss Farr (my teacher) said that for the next two weeks we are going to try ad use described words in our writing. She said that we had to write about a place that we went to in the holidays. I went to Akaroa. Akaroa is just outside of Christchurch. I enjoyed writing about Akaroa because it was so much fun there. It made me happy because I was thinking of all the memories that we had there as a family. I think you should write a piece of writing one day that uses descriptive writing.

Miss Farr (My teacher) reminded us about the kawa of care, about what the rules were. Then she said we had to make a DLO (digital learning object) about one of the rules of kawa of care. But there was a twist, Miss Farr put numbers 1 - 8. There are 8 rules in the Kawa of care. She put all of the numbers in a hat then we all had to pick one from random. I picked 2,  which is. 
I will respect others by always using this Chromebook to interact with others in a kind, positive and helpful way.
Miss Farr said that we could do whatever number we pulled out to create something online. I choose to do a News report video. I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to make the video but also stressful because we did not have much time. It was difficult to make it because I was so stressed. 
I think you should try this out because it is fun, there are so many possibilities that you can do.
