Palindromes Poem
This is a palindrome poem. These poems are when you write something in a poem style but it is backwards with the wording. I decided to make a palindrome poem about unicorns because they are my favourite animal. I enjoyed making this poem because I like how I did it and how it turned out. This was difficult because it still needed to make sense both ways.
Hope you enjoyed :)

Quatrain Poems
You can get out or return
There are so many things to out-look
Bookworm is what you can turn
Fly through the sky
Its wings spread
Then the caterpillar will try
They're much better than guys
Fries are nice and crispy
But guys are too talkie
Pencils and Pens
Paper and card
The summer begins
Hope you enjoyed :)

Limerick Poems
There once was a unicorn
She was always scared of corn
Magic Powers that she do
She did a colourful poo
She had clothes that she outworn
There once was a girl named Elise
Her friends Dad is a police
She loves to draw lots of cats
Once she has seen rats
She sometimes and usually says please
Kia Ora, Hello, Bonjour everyone! How is your day?
Recently we have been learning how to write different kinds of poems. This is a limerick. A limerick has 5 lines. The pattern of what words ryhme is AABBA. Which means that the two top lines and the bottom line rhyme and the third and fourth lines rhyme. I enjoyed making these two poems because it is really fun in general. It was hard to try and think of things that can rhyme though. Soe of the sentences don't really make that much sense, but it rhymes.
Hope you enjoyed :)

Calendar Art
Every year we make a calendar art of a different kind of style. If you don't know what calendar art is, it is a piece of artwork that every class does if your school does it. Each class makes different kinds of art. This year Miss Farr (our teacher) has decided to take a picture of us pretending that we are thinking of something. Miss Farr said that we should draw a picture of our favourite place that is anywhere in the world. I choose to do Raglan. Raglan is a beach that is great for surfing. We didn't go surfing there, we did do boogie boarding. It was always so much fun. We had to put our name and 2022 because that is next year and these calendars are for next year. I am really proud of the bubble writing I did of the words. I enjoyed making this artwork because I think that it's so cool and I am proud of the whole thing. This was difficult because when we were planning on what our favourite place is, I could not remember what it was called. I asked my Mum and then she said Raglan.
Transformations
Miss Farr (our teacher) showed us this video and tasks to do bout this particular maths task. We are learning about transformations. A transformation is changing something into something else. The transformation part is rotation, reflection and translation. We had to make a slide for these three transformations. We had to find three logos of a company or something else that has a logo. We had to explain the logos about what they are and how it relates to rotation, reflection and translation. After we did that, we had to make a logo for ourselves and the class. I made it on this drawing app on my Chromebook then took a screenshot and now posting it on my blog. The logo that represents me is 5 unicorn horns. And the one that represents Whenua (our class) is a mountain and a river across it. I choose to do that because Whenua in Māori means land. The picture that represents me is rotation because they are all the same. The one that represents Whenua is a mirror image, the green part (mountain) is the same from top to bottom and the river is the same if you flip it so standing up. I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to make my own logos. This was difficult because it was hard to find logos that have either rotation, reflection and Translation.

Cleirhew Poem
Katelyn
Her Dad loves bacon
She was born on Thursday
She wears hearing aids.
Little red riding hood
Her Mum sent her with a basket because she could
She wore a red jumper
To visit her Grandmother.
The three little pigs
Their names were youngest pig, middle pig and oldest pig
They have twisted tails
Going on trails.
Garfield
He doesn't like running on fields
Lasagna is his favourite food to eat
He has ginger feet.
Kia Ora, Bonjour, Hello Everyone!!! I hope your day has been going great, amazing, fantastic, wonderful, splendid and magnificent.
In class, we have recently been learning how to make different types of poems. This poem is called a Cleirhew poem. This poem is a poem that has two lines at the start that rhyme and the bottom two lines that rhyme. Miss Farr (our teacher) said that we have to make four poems. One about ourselves and three about made-up characters. I choose to do little red riding hood, The three little pigs and Garfields. I choose Garfield because when I was little I watched Garfield all the time. I enjoyed this because it was fun to make it rhyme. This was difficult I could not think of anything that rhymes with Katelyn, I finally thought of bacon after a while. I kept on wanting to write woods for the little red riding hood but that does not rhyme because of the s.

Epitaph Poem
Here lies a man named Garry Bositions
He always spills positions
He's really smart
Until he does a great big fart
Here lies a man named Borey
He went to a stream and was swimming
He found a fish named Corey
He realized he was underground dreaming
Kia Ora, Hello, Bonjour. I hope your day is amazing!
We have recently been learning how to make different kinds of poems. This is an epitaph poem. It is a poem that is usually serious for people's gravestones. Miss Farr said that we were going to make funny epitaphs. I am not sure if the poems I made were funny or not, I tried to make them funny. I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to make the poems in general. This was difficult because it was hard to think of funny words that rhyme.
I hope you enjoyed :)

Kia Ora, Hello, Bonjour. How has your day been? Hope it is going well.
For the rest of term 3 this year, we are going to make different types of poems. This is an acrostic poem. It is when you choose a topic and choose different words that go with that topic word. You put the topic word down the page. I choose to do one of my poems about unicorns becuase I like them and my other poem is about birthdays, I choose thsi word because my birthday is coming up. I nejoyed making these poems a lot. It was fun to think of words and sentence's for unicorns and birthday. This was diffiuclt becuase sometimes I couldn't think of words for them.

Paralympics - Lesson 8
Kia Ora, Bonjour, Hello Everyone! How has your day been?
This is another Paralympics lesson, this is lesson 8. First, we had to look at the medals that the athletes get for winning, we had to write 3 - 5 words that describe the medals. Then we had to read an article and watch a video about the medals. We had to answer questions and write one-two sentences. We had to read another article about the athlete's village. We had to make a brainstorm about the accessibility of the athlete's village. I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to answer the questions and make the brainstorm.
Hope you enjoyed :)

Spider
New Zealand is still in lockdown
Kia Ora, Bonjour, Hello. How are you. Hope I did not scare you with Larry the spider.
On Monday night, my parents and I were outside. Then we saw this ginormous spider, dad had already named it Larry. I was confused why he called it Larry because it is so random. I am really scared of spiders so I was so scared about this spider. We sprayed it so it did not get in the house because it was close to the vent and we don`t want the spider to be on our bed. The spider landed on the floor. I was scared to go anywhere near it. We picked it up with a paper towel and got rid of it. Ummm...... so yeah.

Start of Olympics - Podcast - Google Drawing - Video
How are you today? I hope you feel amazing!
As you know, the Olympics is happening right now in the world. The Olympics is a sporting event. At school, Miss Farr (our teacher) said to research and make something to teach other people about the Olympics. I made a podcast, a video and a google drawing. I enjoyed this activity because it was fun to make the video and video. It was cool to learn about it when it is going on around the world now. This was difficult because I was trying to get a lot of information about the Olympics so I can teach other people.

Max VS Batman - Wevideo
Hi! Kia ora! Bonjour!
This morning I made this video because I got this idea of a batman toy vs my dog. I got this idea because I gave Max (my dog) one of my old toys because Max loves to chew stuff and we recently got rid of Max's old toy because it stank and fluff was coming out. I thought that this would be really fun to do, and it was. I enjoyed this because the way Max bit batman's head, it wasn't planned. I was going to have them face off but then Max just took one look at batman and was like, yay toy! This was not difficult, I recorded this on a phone so it was easier to film instead of my Chromebook. I should of tried I bit more so the camera did not see my knees. This was really fun. You should try this one day.

SUPER EXCITED AND FUN ACTIVITY WITH CRAYONS - Colour Wheel Silhouette
Kia Ora! Hi! Bonjour! How are you? I hope you are all feeling AMAZING, TERRIFIC AND AWESOME!
At School, us year seven's and year eight's (I am a year seven this year) went to Tech at the High School. We learn and do different stuff there we usually don't do at Primary School (Such as Woodwork, Cooking and Technology). When we came back to Primary School our release teacher had a fun art activity for us that she started with the year six's. It was this art that we had to get a piece of clean paper then trace the silhouette on the paper when it is on the window. When we finished tracing the silhouette we got to colour. We had to choose colours that are the differences on sides with the colour wheel. I knew that I wanted to do pink for the background. The teacher said that we could draw clothes on the person as well because the paper that we traced off, you could not really see the clothes because the picture was black. I decided to do the clothes a blue gradient and the skin from red to orange then yellow. The silhouette was a boy at first but then I changed to look more like a girl because I am a girl. The picture is someone about to kick a ball in soccor (I play soccor, so that is why I choose that picture). I would definetely do this art again. I enjoyed it because it was just such a fun experience. This was diffciult because it took awhile to dod it but that is fine. When I thought I finished the art, I noticed that I didn't draw the outline on the hair so I changed it.
I hope you enjoyed! :)

Inquiry - Potential and Kinetic Energy - By Katelyn
In class, we have been learning about an energy topic. We got to choose a type of energy. I choose to do Potential and Kinetic energy because I thought that it was going to be fun and because I like learning about Potential and Kinetic energy. We already learned about Potential and Kinetic energy last term/1st term for the year 2021 and I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed making this because I like to make things that can teach others with what I learned. This was difficult because I was stressed, I thought I was not going to finish it. But after an hour or so, I finished it. I made a speech and two microphones as well because one of the things that have potential and kinetic energy is a microphone, when you drop the mic after saying something epic or funny or if you just wanted to do that.
Hope you enjoyed :)

Octopus Information report
Octopuses/Octopie are sea animals they have 9 brains and 3 hearts! They have a habitat of many oceans in the world. Octopuses eat lots and lots of sea animals during their 1 to 2 years of living in the wild. They are very talented and smart creatures who can squeeze into small spaces.
Octopuses live in many different places under the ocean.
Octopuses live in kelp forests and coral reefs. Octopie finds to prefer warmer water meaning they live in the sunlight zone. They also live in tidal rock pools where they can easily disguise themselves as oddly-shaped rocks to capture prey. Octopie has no skeleton so they can squeeze into small and tight spaces.
Octopuses eat a lot of different sea creatures.
Octopuses feed on crabs, clams, snails, small fish and other octopuses. Octopuses are one of the most intelligent creatures in the ocean to catch their prey. Octopuses have venom and different octopus have different levels of toxicity which means they can kill they prey easily.
Octopie has a range of predators.
Here are some predators of Octopie. Seals, Fish Conger eels, sea otters, Moray eels, Dolphins, Many birds, Sperm Whales, Sharks. Octopuses have clever ways to defend themselves, they swim head first and in times of danger. They can expel out of water.
There are a lot of different species of octopuses all around the world.
There are 300 species of octopuses around the world. For example, Mimic octopus, coconut octopus, blanket octopus and California two-spot octopus. Some species of octopie are rarer than others different species live in different environments such as the pressure as you get deeper. Here are some other types of octopie! Blue ring octopus, giant pacific octopus, common octopus, Caribbean reef octopuses.
In conclusion, now you know that there are many different octopuses and their habitats are different from other animals. Their prey and predators are different from other sea creatures out there in the world.
Caption:
How are you today? I hope you feel AWESOME! I feel AMAZING, thanks! (if you asked me.)
In class, we have been learning about octopuses. we researched about them and put them on a sheet of paper, then we put it in full sentences on a plan sheet. We had to write the Introduction and Conclusion by ourselves but the paragraphs were already written on the plan sheet. So it was easy, well only if you had a decent plan with big sentences and information. I enjoyed this activity because we already had the information on the planning sheet so all we had to do was copy from it (it was from our own words). I like doing information reports in general too! This activity was difficult because it was hard to see the paper because our whole group could not all look at it at the same time because we were the biggest group. We problem solved this by putting it up with a Chromebook case and some books, so it was alright.
Hope you enjoyed :) Have a good day!

Suffixes
Hi, bonjour, Kia Ora! Hope you are having a good, lovely day!
Through the past week we have been learning about suffixies. We had to complete and fill out these different sheets to learn about what a suffix actually is because you can't teach and make something if you don't even know what it is. A suffix is a sound that you can add on a sentence like -est or -er to make it more of something. This was really fun to learn and I can understand how to write a few more words. We had to make a DLO about suffixes so that others can learn too! I choose to put a picture in there aswell because I thought that it would pop a bit more on my blog (the website you are on right now). I choose to do a picture with a small dog and a big dog. I wrote smallest and biggest on the dogs because those words have suffiexs. I enjoyed this atcivity because it was fun to write what are suffixes and look at the cute dogs. This was difficult because it was hard to find a picture to represent what suffixes are that I could use, but then I was like, why don't I have dogs to represent that. And that is the picture that I found on google to put there.
Hope you enjoyed!

Blogging Contratct - What, Why are you grateful for?
Bonjour! Kia Ora! Hello!
How has your day been going? Hopefully, it has been amazing. Write in the comments!
This is an activity that we can do whenever we like. It is called the blogging Contract. This is a goggle drawing that Miss Farr (My teacher) made for us to do in 2019. (This is my third year with Miss Farr) It has a bunch of different activities to choose from. I choose the things that I am grateful for because I was in the mode of expressing my feelings about what I am grateful for. I enjoyed this because it was fun to write about my family. I liked putting the pictures there as well. This was difficult because I had a big spot that was empty so I thought that I should put what it said on the blogging Contract form and that it was made by me. You should try this out if you're bored. Just go to the Whenua 2021 site then go down to the blogging contract.
Hope you enjoyed :)
